Houzzer Profile: Albert Ferran, Houzz Pro
As part of our Houzz Pro team in London, Albert creates tailored solutions to help home improvement and design professionals in Spain to manage their business, delight their clients and connect with homeowners. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and playing sports, and takes advantage of living in London by visiting the local sights and travelling to nearby towns.
What do you love most about your job?
There are many things that I love about my role at Houzz, but I particularly enjoy analyzing the challenges that professionals face and then putting together customized solutions that will help them to build their brands, reach homeowners and manage their business. It’s very fulfilling knowing that you’re helping them meet their goals.
How has your role evolved from when you first started?
This question is one of the things I like most about Houzz – if you work hard, you’ll go far. I joined a couple of years ago, and was initially introducing Houzz to new professionals and helping them to get started on the platform. I’ve been promoted twice, and am now focused on learning about pros’ needs and helping them to get the most out of our Houzz Pro marketing and business management software. I love the opportunity for growth and professional development at Houzz and the fact that my performance is recognized.
What qualities best reflect your team?
We’re organized, committed and collaborative. As a team we are very close – we work together towards a shared mission, and we celebrate our successes together.
What do you like most about Houzz?
I love that Houzz Pro offers a suite of tools for pros to utilize in building and managing their business. It is truly an all-in-one solution.
Project Match is another favorite, as we ask homeowners questions about their projects and then match them with the right professionals who are best suited to help them. It means that home pros are getting connected to homeowners with the specific types of projects that they are looking to take on, which they really value.
What’s something that has surprised you about working at Houzz?
Houzz has an excellent working environment. You really feel part of a big family from day one and colleagues become great friends.
What time of day are you most productive?
The first part of the morning is the most crucial for me because it allows me to organize the rest of my day, so I feel focused and prepared for my calls with pros.
What advice do you have for others looking to start a career?
In my opinion, working in sales enables you to develop fundamental skills you will use in all areas of daily life. Knowing how to manage these dynamics properly will help you improve your relationships with others and the way you express your ideas.
What is your personal design style?
It’s hard to choose one because I believe all have advantages but my favorite would be minimalist as I really believe in the less is more philosophy.
